Looking to extend the crt.5 chassis another 1"+...which type of AL do I need

Wondering what type of AL and thickness I need to extend my crt.5 another 1"+ more beyond Mike's 40mm chassis.

would 6061 t6 .125 work or something else. rootar used this on his recent slash chassis.

6061-T6 in 1/8" thickness is perfect - that's what I made my chassis out of.
