These (http://www.aerosticks.com/T-Maxx_PhotoGallery.htm) look pretty cool. Anyone know if they are good or not?
I busted a turnbuckle today hitting a curb almost head on at about 45mph! My steering locked up and I could not get it to turn. So far the only other thing that I can see wrong is a majorly bent titanium hinge pin, bent titanium front skid and batteries wedged in between upper and lower decks of G-Max chassis. Not sure if upper deck cracked or not until I take everything apart and un-wedge the batts.
I do have good news though, (no I didn't save a bunch of money on my car insurance) I did get an extremely poor video of it with my cell phone! My daughter videoed it. As soon as I get the cable to download it to my computer (it's being shipped from Canada so maybe by next week) I will post the video.
Thanks.

those look nice and beefy! should be good, they said they tried to break them by hand and they wont snap or bend unlike the stock or titanium ones.

Yes the FlexTek arms were on and they didn't brake on me this time. They held up well.

I think you need to stay off the streets with curbs. :D They seem to jump out in front you. :L:

When you get it took down. Check the x brace on the chassis. I have bent some in the past. I think you may have as well. It don't look pretty.

mmdooley...
The shocks are from Team Blue Star. I don't care for them because they are kind of course, and the company doesn't respond to e-mails. But they look cool.:D
As for the top speed, that's what I was there to do with my radar gun but I decided to run it in to the curb instead. It should be in the high 40's to low 50's mph. When you see the video, it sounds like it is doing about 200mph past the camera though.
coolhand..
I probably won't have it taken apart for about a week or so because I have to finish the T-Maxx conversion first, followed by some new rear bulks on my other BL Maxx. But I'll let you know.

I have a buddy who races a revo. He's been using aerosticks for awhile now and hasn't had 1 problem. He does through some shrink tubing over them to protect the natural finish but there strong as nails!

Get the new gmaxx straps. I like them way better than the older ones. Wider and longer plus stronger. :D

you should also get some velcro so you can put it across the batteries width way and around the chassis, thats what i do and the batteries stay there so much better, and theres less stress on the one strap in a tumble or crash

I actually did Basketti, but I used a plastic zip/wire tie around the batts and it snapped that as well!

yep that be the ones john. I have them for my gmaxx. They seem to fit and hold alot better than before. They are 1/4 inch wider. They seem to be longer with more velcro holding it together. I give them 2 thumbs up. :D

Say, Johny, are the arms bent or is it the bulk that got twisted?

I don't believe either. I think it is because the arm popped out of the hinge pin is what is making it look bent as you can see in the pic below. I will know more when I start to take it apart over the next few days.
Also, it's kinda hard to tell from this pic, but the front titanium skid got bent as well. I'd say about a good 4-5mm bent.
Thanks.

Impressive damage there. I have a bent Ti skid too, it's the very devil to bend back.
Here's an interesting approximation: If you crash at only 30mph, it's the same impact as if you would drop the truck from the 3rd floor....
