View Full Version : UE SuperShocks on stock suspension

Will the SuperShocks work with the stock suspension? I know they are longer, so was curious.

I ordered some last night from mike.

Not without a minor modification. You need to put a small piece of fuel line or other spacer to limit the travel. Stock suspension can't handle such big shock's, had them myself on rpm arm's and without the spacer it sucked.

To limit the downward travel right? If so, I have an idea...

On the stock lower arms the bottom shock mount screw holes are raised up. If you were to cut these off and have the shocks mount onto the arm like a truggy. There is just a hole cut out in the arm for them to fit in and a hole for the screw. It would mean that the shocks would have to be about 15mm longer or so, to fit perfectly. I'm not sure how long the UE ones are.

The ue I think are about 10 to 15mm longer than stock.

I would try to go farther out towards the pillow ball.
Make it closer to the outer hole that you cut off.

Sure will, that's just a silly little prototype to see if you all caught my drift.

Serum - Id still have to dremel material none the less.

Yeah, sounds fair to me, i guess it's the angle of the shock that gets in the way of the arm.

Look's like you need to get some more practice with the 'ol dremel lol.

j/k nice mod. Hope your arm's won't fold if you land a jump hard lol.

now that you made new holes darren, everything is on there but not every hole is in the exact position and now isn't the arm weakened by shaving more plastic off. I would understand if you used rpm.

Pick up a used set of UE Widemaxx arms for $100. It will look and work much better!

Longer than stock are they not?

Plus, I intend on having VBS and Racer X by mid September. It held up to some pretty decent jumps so it's ok just now.
