G2R Weight and Lipo Question

Hey guys I was just wondering how much your G2R (or any electric Revo) weighed.

My came in at 9.75 pounds RTR. That was with 7 Cell GP3700's.

I am looking to shave over a pound off by switching to maxamps 4000mah Lipos.

Do you guys think those will handle the current draw of an HV 6.5?

Yes, the maxamps 4000's will handle the hv 6.5 with ease.

the weight is not too bad. Dafni's g3r weights about the same, he uses 5S2P 3700's flightpower cells.

WOW, that's light. Mine weighs close to 11lbs. but I know it's because of the beadlock rims, big joes and 8000 lipos.

Does switching to lighter rims and tires really make that much of a difference?

Yes, you can easily shave off 1lbs+

Yea my responses/hurricanse are my lightest set so far. However, my CrimeFighter MT's on Traxxas Sport rims are not noticably heavier (you have to have all 4 in your hand at once to notice the difference).

Cool, I am ebaying some discontinued lego's from my early childhood (16 now) and I should have about $500 dollars in cash coming in (people pay crazy amounts for that stuff lol). That should be enough for a Hyperion EOS7i, a blancer, and 3 sets of 4000mah packs. Sweet.

The thing I don't like about hte Response tires is that they wear VERY fast.

Do they wear that fast?

Its not really too much of a problem for me anyway, since my brother owns an R/C shop so I can get a full set of tires for about 40 dollars...if that.

Yea, they wear REALLY fast. Last race I went to, they had a guy running them on his Revo and you could see the wear. They were almost brand new and then after some practice and a few heats, they were half worn out.

Well, if they become a problem I'll just use my CF MT's, and then when those go, I'll get me some MTR's, or maybe holeshots, as those seem like they would work well at my track.

I have a bunch of lego ranging from Technic to Star Wars to Trains and just the normal city stuff.

I actually have a little city consisting of a shuttle launch pad (gotta have NASA), an airport, a bank, police station, a custom hospital/fire departement combo, a McDonalds (gotta have that artery clogging goodness!), a dock with boats, a hovercraft and a few jetskis, a railroad crossing and a passenger and cargo train with 6 or 7 train carts. Not mentioning a little station.

My Starwars collection includes the Star Destroyer (the thing is giant), a Republic gunship, AT-TE, AT-AT, Naboo Starfighter (discontinued original) and some other stuff.

Technic includes the Silver Champion F1 Car, Street Sport Red Sports Car, 4x4 (green), and the Power (tractor) puller.

I'm probably forgetting a bunch too. But I think I could easily get 2000-3000, if not more dollars for all of my legos because nearly all of them are discontinued.

After looking at the gong prices for a few of them, I can get 900-1000 dollars from just 4 of my starwars sets.

Lego rules, i only have got technic lego though, the model i enjoyed building the most was the PCB yellow tractor, it has got tons of pneumatic (the new model i am talking about)
