I'am to order a new motor and li-po for my crt.5.
I want to know if i'am better to take a high Kv motor like a feigao 540s (in 4500 to 5000Kv)on 7.4 volts maxamps 8000mAh or take a lower Kv like feigao 540 10L or 11L on 14.8 volts maxamps 4000mAh.
I've the UBEC.
I want a powerfull system (in the 40 m/h range) and long runtime. And i plan tu put 2.2 truck tire on the crt.5 insteed of the buggy tire.
Thank you:intello:

Well, it's always better to use higher voltage on a higher resistance motor for less current, but weight becomes a consideration especially given the size of the CRT.5. People have run the L motors with good results. The MM motors are too weak IMO, but I don't know if anyone has tried a true S motor (the MM motors are technically the same length, but have smaller windings).

Pesonally the s can feigaos run hot, does not really matter what gearing or how light the vehicle is. I have a 12s in a pede and it runs great, but always around 170f. Never loses power or glitches and the MM stays around 135f and batts at 100f. I would suggest the 10l on 4s lipo. I have a LS10 which is bigger than the crt.5 and it loves the 4s setup (4000 maxamps 4s and MM w/UBec) I have it geared with a 14t pinion (54 spur) and it never gets above 135, even after 30mins. I have a fan on the MM and some holes in the body so the MM rarely beats 115f. Sooooo much power and sooooo smooth. Much beter than the 10l 3s combo I had in my Crt.5. Runs cooler and is just better all around. I am slowly converting all of my toys to 4s+. The higher voltage systems just work better IMO.

OK James, that's the setup that i've think about. But for the lipo pack, is the 4000 maxamps is good and have good punch??
Is somebody have ever try the E-Cell??? $120.00 for a 14.8volts 4000 mAh, 25C pack:gasp:

Go for the MaxAmps 5000mAh 3s pack - fits perfectly on one side of the buggy. Pair that with a motor around 3000kv and you'll be all set for a ~40mph gearing with either 16/46 or 17/46.
Go for an L size can - the crt.5 is not a light buggy for it's size and you'll appreciate the punch.
Check out my setup - temps are really good and performance rocks!

Runtime bashing will be easily 20 - 30 minutes.

OK i've just order a feigao 12L and a maxamps 4000mAh, 14.8 volts, and with a 18 tooth pinion.
Suppose to be around 38-39 mph with stock tires.

You will be happy with that setup, just make sure to run a UBEC, the MM will thanks you for it.
