Disappointed by what?

Those are excellent numbers. At 100A, the whole motor is only dissipating 50W.

The difference is simply that there are tabs -- and A & C phase have slightly higher...

I'm surprised to see THAT much difference, usually they are a little better balanced.

I'd honestly expect to see slightly lower (A) to (B) and (B) to (C) than (A) to (C).

B phase has a shorter...

Were you running sensored or sensorless? What phase advance were you using?

Note that you will see higher IO at higher phase advance.

Thanks!

Hmmmmm...

Possible there's an issue with the current measurement on the slow ESC. It may think the current is higher.

Not sure. You can always send it in for a checkup.

Thanks!

I asked my software folks about this, and got this reply (below) -- so, it seems it's just a firmware modification. Back down to 1.78, and get the fastest possible setup on the XLX.

I would have to disagree with the whole "2-pole is faster" thing.

The two pole motors on the market are three slot stators. That means they need a lot of turns per pole to make significant...

True. Here's a hint:

The 1406-4600 is a 1 turn motor

The 1406-1900 is a 2.5 turn motor

That's because of the thinner, more resistive laminations. The delta in IO is much smaller with RPM.

Thanks!

It's not linear with RPM, you probably won't see that much of a reduction on IO. I would guess 2.5-2.6A

Thanks!

I wish! Unfortunately we are out of IOs on that processor.

And the 7.5V is actually closer to 7.25. So it should work for any servos setup to run on 7.2V.

Thanks!

We are using a .2mm lamination, special High Frequency grade, Japanese steel. So the iron losses are quite low.

I think you should see about 1/2 the iron losses with our motor, vs a motor with...

Sorry guys, it's a hardware limitation in the controllers. For the BEC, we can set arbitrary output voltage because we are using a DAC and current mirror to set the output voltage.

We don't have...
