Yeah, we need to find a way to contact him and get him on the forums :)
The only way to beat the laws of aerodynamics is the beat it senseless with lots of power.. a 1521 and 10s will do that :)

So whats the advantage of 4wd over 2wd in this case anyways? It's not like you have to worry about traction as that's really just a downforce/aerodynamics issue..

Im no expert but here is what i think..
You still need to accelerate this car, and 1521 and 10s lipo could easily demolish 2 tires, 4 tires give you that much more bite to get the car moving.. and you dont get downforce without motion.

4wd drive gives you better torque management when accelerating. It also encourages better stability when off power as all wheels have 'drag' which keeps things straight

I would think it would also be a function of radio range also. The car needs to accelerate to 200 within the range of the radio, while a car at Bonneville has miles to reach top speed.
I would imagine the car has less than a mile to go 0 to 200. Pretty hard accel indeed.

I seen this car earlier this year or late last year, supposedly went 165 mph on its maiden voyage. Cool car, I like the more scale or standard looking classes though. more fun and work going fast with limitations
Work because i gotta, play because i wanna
People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

The car (the SR 11)
Has been a blast to build, with the help of Curtis Husting. Curtis is very talented, creative - and also happens to be a nice guy.
As you might have guessed - trying to make a wheel-driven R/C car achieve 200mph is very difficult. Over the years, failures have led to successes. Tires, gears, radio range, location, drive-train, traction, aero, set-up, gearing prediction, etc, are All problems that need to be solved… It's a lot of work, but worth it.
Have a look at vid about success and failure -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OiaPNlR5A4I
