I am not sure if they can be removed from the Traxxas part and used on the RPM part.

I used a members pic and added in what I am talking about.

I REPEAT; TRAXXAS #5334r COMES WITH THE METAL RINGS THAT SHOULD STOP THE BALLS FROM POPPING OUT. I AM NOT SURE THEY CAN BE REMOVED AND USED ON THE RPM AXLE CARRIER.
Gee, thanks for repeating yourself ??
And yes they come off and swap over to the RPM carrier, a tricky install but nessasary.

You're absolutely right Bondo, the metal rings from the Traxxas carriers can be taken off and slipped on the RPM carriers. My question is... Why? You have to buy the Traxxas carriers to have these metal rings. The Traxxas carriers are perfectly fine, lightweight, tough and cheap to buy so why ruin them to try to fix crappy RPM carriers. But you are right, it can be done. I just don't see why. Great vids and great truck as usual Popoxx.

Alright Mr Fuel,

No need to purchase extra TRX carriers to get the rings, they were updated 2+ years ago and come with all the TRX trucks and have for a Looooong time. I see the RPM carriers being superior over the TRX ones, larger bearings and better material, flex rather than break as by design. Once the rings are swapped over they are pretty much bullet proof ? I've subjected my ERevos to more torment than most guys can even imagine and the RPM carriers have never ben a issue, I've broken plenty of the stocks one tho.

yes that's true, I should've thought about that.

hmmmm... Us French guys must be doing things differently then. I have had the opposite experience with Traxxas carriers versus RPM ones. I did use RPM carriers for a while because of what you said about bigger bearings. But the bearings that were included by RPM failed on the first outing. I changed the bearings to new Avid ones and after a short while, a pivot ball popped out. So I did the modification you mentioned before by taking the metal rings from the Traxxas carriers and put them on the RPM ones. It held for a while longer until a pivot ball popped out again. It wasn't even the carrier from the first time but the other one, the pivot opening was deformed and the ring was stretched from the pop out. That's when I decided to go back to the stock ones. Which never gave me any problems with the pivot balls, I just wanted to use the RPM for the bigger bearings. But it really doesn't matter anymore because I came across a great deal on NIP RD Racing carriers so that's what I have on the E-Revo now.

No brain, no headaches.

Nice! In what way did you break the truetrac knuckle? I see the busted shaft. Did you deform the hinge pin area on the knuckle?

Only the driveshaft is broken, I just wanted to show the damn rust but it's hard to see it in fact... The hinge pins are really big I've never bent one !

Here is my next upgrade :

It's the new HPP wheel hub, soon available. No more slope normally ! I will test it soon (I will post pics at least, my revo hates winter...).

I'm not really worried by the slight axial slope (look at my driving style...) but I want the best for my revo

Updated bracket

Some people have had problem with the first version, the motor mount popped off during hard landings.
So HPP released a second version, larger (on the left) :

Before :

After :

Now I have to trim this E-Maxx BL body to bash my revo soon ! (as soon as I find a nice spot around my new city)

Bye bye E-Revo - 05.18.2013, 08:51 AM

Yes... I did it I don't like seeing my trucks not used so I sold one to give it a second life !
It's a Traxxas forum member who bought it, I hope he'll post more pics and vids than I did these last years

Don't ask me if my E-Maxx is on sale, I could never do that, I keep pampering it !
