What motor would be a good match for the CRT.5? I already have the MM ESC, so I want to use a 2-pole motor. I plan on running 3s lipo, maybe 4s depending on room. I was looking at the 1920, but that's probably physically too large and way more power than I need. So, how about a 380 size motor? I want this to run cool and efficient, so I am shying away from the Feigaos. But the LMTs (was thinking the 15xx series) are tough to get. What else is good?

How about a Lehner Basic 3100? Quite small and good efficiency and power.

I'm going to run a 1530 (going to have Mike get one for me). I'm going to have him order one soon as I get the money, so hopefully it will be here when I have the money to complete the rest of the project.

See if Mike can get a 1530 for you.

I really don't know what other motor to run besides a 15 series LMT or a full blown 540 sized motor.

Hey, Brian... have you checked on the status of your CRT.5?

HH guys said that only 18 of these made it to the US so far, and hobby haven has 4 of them!! 2 last week and 2 this week....

It pays to be one of the biggest volume stores in the US... @$3 mil/yr.

Also, a small side note... these early kits have bad orings in the diffs and they leak bad. Ofna is shipping out replacement orings for them...

I got to see one last week... they are cool. They look really small next to a truggy. :D They are about the size of a 1/10 buggy with a short wheelbase.

A MM and a 380c on lipo would look great in there....

I really wouldn't mind a 540 motor... if it'll fit. For this project, I'm going with the layout with the motor on one side and the batts on the other. That'll leave me more room on top for the electronics.

Another thing; does anyone know what the spur pitch is? I wonder if there is a Delrin spur that will even work. At worst, I can simply use the stock clutchbell and have someone make a pinion.

Not sure about the gears.. I would have checked the manual but didn't think about that.

A MM 540 would fit fine too... I was jsut thinking that the 380c are a bit lighter and smaller that's all. A lehner basic would kick butt too...

I would do a MM system if a guys already has that. No need to go with a different motor really unless you have one or want to be different...

Yeah, I'm kinda mad about that. I ordered it online Monday and I called on Wednesday to find out what the holdup was. The shipping dept was closed, but I left a message. I called again Friday and the shipping guy had to look around for the order and then found out they had a question so they didn't ship it on Wednesday. They just wanted to know if my address was correct! They said they called me, but that's a lie since my phone is on 24/7 for work purposes. ARRRGGG! And they actually sold their last one on Friday! I was a little miffed to say the least. So now, I'm the first on their waiting list.

I had actually called HH and they said the ones they were getting were already spoken for, that's why I ordered online.

I guess it's OK that I have to wait, but I'm still a little mad about the whole thing.

Anyway, I looked at the Jammin website and they don't have an online version of the manual yet. As to the motor; now that I have firsthand experience at how nice a good motor is (the Neu), I don't want to use the lower-end stuff. :) I guess I'm just spoiled now. But, I might just use a 4600 motor and see how that works for now, unless CC comes out with the elusive Neu fix...

Wow thats quite lame.

I'm hoping the pitch is something common like 32 (M.08) though.

Yeah, 32p would be nice.

Did you get your CRT yet?

And any word on when the next batch will be made?

Yeah... too bad they didn't tell you there was two more on the way. Actually the two coming are being held by thd distributor until the new orings show up. Then they will ship to the LHS.

I don't know when more are coming out of China... probably pretty quick though, unless there is some hold up on the diff fix.

A guy I know said the Chinese new year is one reason only a few have got here so far. :D

Diff o-ring? I remember someone at HH saying something about an "issue". I guess that's what he was talking about. Well, I guess it's a good thing I'm getting the next batch then! :)

Nah, haven't got mine yet - funds my friend...funds.

I have ~$300 right now. I suspect I'll get ~$330 for selling my HV stuff. Between selling stuff and earning money, I'm hoping to have~$1100 by early to mid April. I will earn more at the end of May, and then I will have a job in the summer.

Take away about $550, probably more like $600 for the 1950/6 and other stuff for me G2R. That brings me down to $500, so that enough to get things rolling on the CRT project. Pretty much just the actual truck and have Mike order me the motor.

Then I'll need at least a good $400 or more to get it finished.

HH = Horizon Hobby right?

Hmmm, funds, yeah. Just remember; it's not how much, it's how much per month! :027:

J/K. Using a credit card is a fast way into debt. I wait until I have the funds, use the CC for the rewards, and then pay it off. Looks good on a credit report too.

I recently dismantled parts of my Revo to get a better motor mount. GriffinRU in conjunction with Mike (last I heard) is fabbing something up for me. Other than that, I usually work on one project at a time. It tends to be cheaper that way. It's amazing how much this hobby adds up!

HH=Hobby Haven. It's a LHS in the Des Moines area. :)
