International shipping costs -

I want to order one or two mod 1 pinions, but the calculated shipping costs to Europe are about $28 with priority mail international.
These pinions don't have to be shipped with priority mail, but it's the only option that is listed.
I've had this with other products in Mike's store, and it simply makes me purchase parts form other stores because shipping costs are much lower.
So Mike, could you please have a look at the way shipping costs are calculated?
It would be in your benefit aswell, as I'm sure you'll sell more products if more shipping options are available.
We can do small shipments via 1st class mail - usually $10 or less for small packages(few pinions for example). The customer in these cases agrees to accept responsibility for lost packages. Years ago I offered this through the store and got burned....badly! Everyone wants low cost shipping of course, but when a package gets lost we end up losing when the transaction is disputed. If the site shopping cart allowed us to put a maximum value on the low cost shipping we would do it, but we used to get $500+ orders asking for 1st class mail shipping - this is way to risky for us and I would rather lose the sale then make the sale initially and lose the product and the money when it gets lost and disputed. :)
Bumping this thread since I would like to buy a selection of pinions and I'm willing to risk sending it by regular mail because the shipping cost is about the same as the value of the pinions if sent by priority mail.
Could I just make a note about that when placing the order and request an updated invoice?
