Accually no captian.
I talk to another guy reg.
He has like two or three of them.
He says it is the best truck he owns.
It takes a beating and keeps coming.
He hasn't posted so long on here I forgot his name.
I got him on msn though. :D

Peace!

Traxxas all the way! I hear a lot of people talk about"Japanese precision" but that doesn't reallyt hold water. I own 3 kyoshos and 1 Tyamia, so don't think I havn't been there and done that. Anything worth having is going to require upgrades, and if you don't break anything, your not running it hard enough!

I wanted to get my son into RC, so I got him an RC18T. Within 10 minutes of getting it, he broke a shock; and that was just the start of it. Then I got him a T4, he kept breaking arms. What can I say? He's 8 and has too much of me in him. The last thing I gave him is a Monster GT that I converted to brushless. I made it first gear only. The whole truck is stock, including the steering servo. The only thing I did to the tranny was the first gear thing and I took out all of the reverse plumbing. He's been running it a couple of weeks and I haven't had to replace anything but a 2nd gear shaft and a couple of rod ends. In my book, it's the best because it does what a monster truck is supposed to. It goes over, through, or up just about anything that gets in its way.

I'd say Traxxas hands down...they revolutionized MT's with the T-Maxx and E-Maxx, and they did it again with the Revo. Traxxas all the way.

I've seen some Revo's beat truggies, and I find that alone just completely insane.

CRT .5: 7075 Ext Chassis, LMT1930/7, FP 25C 3S Lipos, MM

Yep, Traxxas is awesome, but in my opinion, Associated is right there with them. My LHS doesn't sell Losi, so I don't know much about them.

I think Tamiya would be the lord of MTs if it gets serious about it.

there is no MT imo that is good out of the box, they all require hop-ups and mods. and in racing, give a pro any truck out of the box and he'll beat the average joe with a top-level tuned-up truck.

That is because the maxx is old news! Come on how old is it? Give the lst/lst2 some credit they are great trucks. Give it some time and some manufacturer will do the same for the lst as far as a super maxx type of deal. The lst was truck of the year when it was first introduced. It is my opinion that they are the best monster trucks out there but out of the box there is no question that the maxx has seen better days and the revo needs lots of money dumped into it so that it is reliable enough to race. So how can that be the best monster truck? Have you ever added all of the money you have tied up in your revo or asked any racer how much he has in he revo? Most people who have revo's put bigger motors in them, that tells us that they don't have enough power, add cvd's because the driveshafts break all of the time. that tells us they are not durable, they add allumium diff cups for higher stength for their diffs, once again it comes down to a durability issue? You said the best monster truck, to me that sounds like a inferior product not the best. Oh yea by the way the LST has all of those things stock.

It's quite simple;

all the cars have their flaws and serve their own purposes. (one for bashing, one for racing)

While a savage is pretty tough, a revo is topnotch design when it comes to engineering. everything is thought thru. Makes an lst and a savage look like vehicles made by fred flinstone. And i am not saying fred didn't know his share about technique.

The savage with its long shocks, the losi with its fat shocks. the revo with his tupperware®© drivetrain.. (which is pretty tough though)

The revo has got his flaws. 1/10th diffs, popping shock-ends. but so is any other truck

with every truck you drive/use you will tear/use parts. no way around it.

While one prefers losi, another prefers traxxas/hpi or some other brand.

This forum is about sharing knowledge about brushless and setups.
Not about useless debates over different manufacturers.

this is the same useless discussion with nitro vs electric. Do/choose what serves your needs in this hobby..

we are all driving stupid little scale cars..
