Talking My T-RCE Slash 4x4 #2 - 11.24.2012, 04:42 AM

looks nice!!! Careful with that traxxas plug you have there, doesn't look like the bars are pushed in all the way.

Well spotted. Done by someone else, but I will fix it before installing a battery. :)

Very nice Slash you built there...
I own one of those TRCE conversions myself and it's excellent!
Tried that gorillamaxx battery strap mod myself, sadly the strap ripped after 2-3 lawn darts

What's the length (hole to hole) of those proline shocks up front?
I'm thinking about getting D8 shocks for my Slash too, since I allready ahve them on two other RCs.
But they wont fit on the stock towers up front.
So the question is if I can get away with the TRCE front shock tower, or if I need to get a rear tower for the front as well.

By the way, if you want to use aluminium steering knuckles up front with the Tekno M6 shafts, you can either widen the outer bearing positions as I have done.
Or you can just get the XO-1 steering knuckles, they are a direct drop in.

That truck is so sexy! I don't know what magnesium does for an r/c vehicle, but I want some!

I like the subtlety of the red only on the cups and steering. I would love to see it with a tekin setup and this red tekin motor> http://www.ebay.com/itm/Tekin-SC4X-S...item43b25a31b8

Or whatever kv in an scx4 motor you want. I only use castle stuff myself, but when you build r/c's as beautiful as you do, you might as well stick with the color scheme.

Awesome build. Thanks for introducing me to T-RCE.

They claim that the Magnesium parts are 35% lighter than AL and just as strong. Also they claim that their parts are lighter than the stock plastic parts. The shock towers are very interesting....many tuning options.

I like the disclaimer..."(Magnesium dust is flammable. Do not grind, sand or modify in any way)"

I would be curious as to the weight difference vs a stock Slash.

Thanks for all the kind words, gentleman. I am kind of proud of this build. It's winter time now so it will probably be a while before I drive it. Right now it's sitting in my office looking all pretty. :)
