I've been working on this build for a while now, and its not done yet, but I figured I would share what I have so far.
I'm building it to be a basher, to take the abuse, and to look cool of course

I guess a list of parts is in order, so here we go:

- FLM Center Chassis & Braces (to be replaced with UE's new HV Lightning ... when available of course)
- Complete UE EXT Suspension
- Titanium Tierods
- FLM Hybrid Bulkhead Gearboxes
- Ofna Hyper 7 Spider Diffs
- UE Steel 6mm CVDs & Drive Cups all around
- UE Monoblock Chassis Extension
- Stamped 120gm Titanium beadlock wheels w/custom hex adapters
- IMEX J-Hawg Tires
- UE Supershocks (freshly rebuilt)
- HCR Titanium Front, Center & Rear skids
- RD Logics Trans Case
- FLM Low CG Motor Mount Plate
- Steel trans idler gear
- onclebens custom 145mm rear center stainless steel dogbone
- Gregers custom knucklhead wing mount
- MBX6 Wing stay & Wing

Still to come:

- Plastix ejector pins to replace the Titanium hinge pins
- UE Gen IV Servo Saver to replace the craptastic look-alike I had just laying around
- UE Hardened Steel Pillow Balls
- Brushless Motor & ESC
- Spur & Pinion

Scored this NIP rear HCR Titanium skid on Amazon...of all places


Onclebens custom rear stainless dogbone, and an unknown front steel dogbone (to be replaced soon with a matching stainless version)




Decided to use a Knucklehead in the rear so I could use Gregers' wing mount


Wing mount




Two different adapters for the Titanium wheels. Needed the 14mm hex version for the UE axles.

Truck looks great Travis. Thats a lot of BLING right there.

Are the wheels 3.2 size? I'd like a set of those Imex Maxx Dawg for my truggy.

Yes the wheels are stock Maxx size, 3.2 wheels. They're a 5 piece bolt together beadlock....2 SUPER light weight stamped Titanium wheel halves, 2 plastic inner bead locking rings, and an adapter that bolts on the back and holds it all together.

The IMEX J-Hawg tires are pretty cool looking, but in my opinion, they are probably not necessarily a great choice for actual bashing...especially brushless. My reason being is that I'm not very impressed with the construction of the tires. While the tread area of the tire is almost excessively rigid and heavy duty, the sidewalls are exactly the opposite...the sidewalls are VERY thin, and seem like they would tear pretty darn easily. Not to mention the foams that came with the tires are EXTRA FIRM, making the tires hard as a rock. So my guess is they will most likely be quite out of balance, and with the extra RPM of a brushless system, things might get a little crazy. haha

I plan to run completely different tires when bashing this monster.

Just my 0.02 though

The tires look the part on that truck though and the wheels are great looking.

I've been looking for another basher tire for my truggies other than the Badlands.

Are you going to use this one or will it be a shelf queen?

Thanks, I agree, they fit the look very well. I'm a big fan of aggressive tread patterns.

I've heard a lot of good things about the badlands tires. I'm going to have me a set of those as well, for actually running on.

This truck is defintely getting run. I'm building it to beat the tar out of, more or less. Its evolving into kind of a heavy beast, but that's ok. Thats why it has 8 supershocks, and 4 of the heavy black springs

So yes, to answer your question, this truck will get run a lot, it will not be a shelf queen. My UE Predator build is my shelf queen...although I will be running that truck as well, just not in harsh environments, and not with the drive it like you stole it mentality this build is being done for.

I'm not sure of the overall weight so far. But I have wondered the same thing myself. Although I probably do not want to know. haha

The parts I've chosen to use on this truck make for a combination aimed more towards durability, rather than weight savings. And more often than not, strength and durability usually = more weight. All I know so far, is that this beast is a little on the heavy side. But with the brushless power that's in store for it, I don't think the weight is going to be an issue.

If I can find a way to weigh it though, I will definitely share the info here

What will it have for a motor/ esc combo?

haha, all I can think of that I actually used from Traxxas, are the trans internals

But this has been a ground up build, starting from nothing but random parts gathered from here and there, so there's no stock Maxx just laying in a pile of parts anywhere.

As far as the motor and esc go, I haven't made a final decision. I have it narrowed down to a few different motors. Will most likely go with a Castle ESC...maybe the new Mamba Monster 2 (I like that its waterproof).

I am definitely open to ANY advice anyone might have on what motor they recommend though. I would actually appreciate the input. My decisions have simply been made based on what I've been able to gather by searching around here.

The 1520 is one of the motors I'm looking at, but they don't seem as easy to find? Its a 1600kv motor right?

Yes it is a 1600kv. I see them over on offshore electronics from time to time. I can keep my eyes out if you would like me to.

Wish they would offer the new 1717 as parts for the xo1, to get it with warranty. This would be beautiful for the truck.
